City of Dalaran New

A new dungeon for levels 28-33: Dalaran's barrier has fallen and the rebuilt city is in arcane chaos. Earn the Kirin Tor's trust with an attunement questline, then enter through the sewers.

Getting in

  • Attunement needed. Alliance start with An Alarming Request (Emissary Jacques, Southshore); Horde with Key to the City and Prison Break-In (Tarren Mill).[1]
  • Both chains end with Heart of Disruption, which grants the Dalaran Sewer Key for the gate outside the city's north-west side.[2]
  • Since 15 Oct 2026, Horde are attacked on sight in open-world Dalaran; this does not block the dungeon.[3]

Bosses

  • Beta guides list 8 bosses ending with the Shade of the Archmage; the client's list differs (Mana Elemental, Mana Wraith, no Arcanic Enigma).[2][4]
  • SpoilerSecret boss, step 1: loot the Black Tome in Arugal's room (Shadowfang Keep) and use it at the Ambermill Leyline Focus in Silverpine.

Loot

  • Camp Blueprints: Spinning Wheel (Tailoring) from the Unstable Sentinel and Arcane Salvager (Enchanting) from the Shade.[2]

Legacy

  • Counts for Experienced Spelunker: beat the final boss of every level 26-45 dungeon for 1 account-wide Legacy Point.[6][7]

Tips

  • Talk to Grindle Firespark to drop the barriers around the Fel Ancient; an archmage near the keep opens the portal to the Shade.[2]
  • Much of the damage inside is Arcane, even some melee hits, so shield blocks help less; Mana Phantoms cast Mana Burn.[2]

  • Which boss list is right at launch: 8 bosses in beta guides or the 9 client entries.
  • Whether the Horde follow-up quest after the dungeon changed with the 15 Oct 2026 Dalaran fix.
  • Launch loot and item stats: stats stay hidden until someone loots an item, and beta values can change.
